"Journeys with the Messiah"

Last Updated on Thursday, 29 October 2009 06:15 Written by Administrator Wednesday, 28 October 2009 16:09

lighten-the-loadA new project, called "Journeys with the Messiah", shows Jesus from a new perspective, tough old light. The photographer Michael Belk set his aim to create a picture series about Jesus. Therefore, he combined a Jesus with rolling beard and linen cloth with our modern society, i.e. the modern version of his encounters 2000 years ago.

The pictures are partly provocating as Jesus was provocating to his contemporaries. One photo is called "the second mile" and shows Jesus walking alongside a man in Nazi-cloth, carrying his weapon. Belk says that this picture is intended to illustrate the command in Matthew 5 - love your enemies, pray for you persues you and forgive as Jesus has forgiven you. Yet, the pictures are a wonderful illustration of how Jesus and his actions impressed his contemporaries. It is worth a look, you can find the photos here: http://www.thejourneysproject.com/Gallery.aspx.

Which one do you like most? Which one is most provocating? Leave us a comment!

Our prayer card has arrived!

Written by Administrator Thursday, 15 October 2009 23:08

Gebetskarte_front

This week we got a long awaited parcel: Our prayer cards arrived. Made up like a postcard, you can pin it on your pin board or attach it to you bath room mirror. Or you use it as a book mark. Or you put it into you bible, next to your favorite bible verse.

For sure you'll find lots of other places to put our prayer card. It will remind you of us and if you say a short prayer for us and our ministry everytime you look at it, God will turn it into a blessing.

If you'd like your personal prayer card, you can send us a simple email, we'll send you one (and maybe a second one for your grandmother Wink)!
